After a first appearance on Heuristique II [909CNT004], Dael Phonom is back on 909 Connection for a five track EP. This release entails us into the complex and broken universe of the Toulouse (FR) based producer.

The adventure starts with the eponym title, Floating, a smooth yet efficient broken beat that bears the weight of melancholic and nagging melodies. The second track begins with a field recording that projects you straight in the Pyrénées, aka the Hill from Nowhere, where a nervous rhythm associates to chromatic progressions. As you slowly drift into madness, Trantor will tap into your darkest resources to deliver a powerful breakcore beat, driven by a paranoïd detuned synths. In the fourth track, Wrecks, drums are getting even more saturated and synths more glitchy, for what sounds like a cry of despair and affliction.

As an ending, STUPR took down the tempo for a remix of Hills from Nowhere, which now sounds like a wake-up after a bad nightmare… Unless you are still sleeping ?
